If you are not completely conversant with the
undergrduate material on control systems, you can use
any of the following to review basic concepts such as
Laplace transforms, transfer functions, poles and
zeros, Bode plots, root locus, PID control, etc:
"Control Systems Engineering" by N. Nise
"Modern Control Systems" by Dorf and Bishop,
"Feedback Control of Dynamic Systems" by
Franklin, Powell, and Emami-Naeini
